<<< About H.E.A.R.T.strings Perinatal Bereavement

Brody Michael Lazar was born still at 36.5 weeks on January 18, 2022. It was an almost perfect pregnancy and we had prayed for a healthy baby. God gave us an angel instead.

Almost 24 hours exactly after learning that Brody had died, our son was delivered. He was perfect; 5lbs 8oz and 19 inches long. The most beautiful thing we had ever seen. Brody was baptized and his grandparents got to meet him, but heartbreakingly, we wouldn’t get to leave the hospital with our son.

While our time with him was short, he made us parents and brought our families even closer together. We are incredibly thankful for everyone’s support over the past several months, especially our family and close friends. We are also appreciative of being connected with those who have experienced similar tragedy in the past.

Our mission is to keep his name alive by making contributions in Brody's name to Heartstrings to help other bereaved parents.  We also hope to raise awareness around baby loss and to find ways to help stop preventable stillbirths in the future.

Finally, to our son Brody. You made us parents. You will always be our first born. You taught us so much in a short period of time. Giving birth truly is a “miracle” and as cliché as that always sounds it has never resonated to us more than over the past few months. Life is a gift. We will live every day with you in our hearts. We promise to always remember you as the light, love, and hope you have been for us and will be for others. We wish we could have had more time with you, to know and watch you grow and enjoy what you would have become. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.

Thank you for making a gift in memory of Brody Michael Lazar.
