Leslie Hyland and her Life Skills class at Learnwell Collective, a private hybrid school in Alpharetta, raised money over the holiday season to benefit the Northside Hospital NICU and Special Care Nurseries. The 6th and 7th graders decided to get creative and make Christmas-themed gifts, decorations, foods and treats to sell to other students at the school's Christmas Bazaar. The students spent their time outside of school hours to create gifts like Christmas baked goods, candles, and even bracelets to hold essential oils.

In total, Hyland's class raised over $680 towards the NICU and Special Care Nurseries at Northside Hospital. "I am so proud of my students’ efforts to love and serve others. My students felt drawn to Northside hospital because many of their families have been personally impacted by the amazing work done in the NICU. It was very rewarding for them to read the stories and hear from their peers how the NICU has made a difference in so many lives.", said Hyland.

The Miracle Babies Fund, through the Northside Foundation, provides transportation assistance and support to almost 400 families with babies in the NICU, annually.
